Black Friday is approaching and I am already getting emails about suit sales (Sarar, Combat Gent, Express). As suits are being purchased for various occasions this holiday season, I urge every Gentleman to broaden his horizons, and not purchase the all too familiar black suit. We all know that when starting his suit collection, it is easy and almost customary for a Gentleman to go with the black suit. If you are just starting your suit collection I would recommend going against this all too familiar trend. Instead, purchase a charcoal gray or navy suit first. Or, if you already have a black suit try to mix it up with different shirt colors, as this will help brighten things up a bit.
For example, today I am pairing my black suit with a baby blue shirt and a navy tie. It looks a lot better than the usual white shirt and black tie. Per usual, I have also included a pocket square with this look. Always remember Gents, if you have a pocket on the chest of your jacket, put in a pocket square. White square will do the trick if you are trying to be safe. However, for this outfit I felt a blue pocket square did a perfect job of completing the look.
I hope you enjoy the look and don’t forget to share the blog post with other gents!
