It has often been said that, “You only get one chance to make a first impression. “Whether you are out on a date, interviewing for a job or meeting new colleagues for the first time, having the right suit on will help make a good first impression.
A
good suit needs to be well fitted and feel right when you first put it on. Of
course, anyone can go to a department store mall buy a suit and call it a day,
but I guarantee your world will change once you experience the feel of wearing
a custom tailored suit fitted to perfection.
I
had the pleasure of meeting with Jonathon Reichart, who is a personal tailor at
Suit Supply. Upon arriving, I was greeted at the door and offered a beverage. I
have to say this store has a very nice set up, patio and all! I felt like a
king! Jonathon explained the benefits of having a custom suit or tux, mainly if
you are having a hard time buying off the rack.
Next
I met with Nicholas Ramirez. Nicholas dressed me with a fitted charcoal suit.
With this suit I did require some alterations but Nicholas explained that all
alterations are different depending on the gent’s figure. But don’t worry the
store has in-house tailoring! As I
looked around I noticed all the associates giving their undivided attention
working with new customers or returning customers, this shows a sense of trust.
Product knowledge and simple details is what Nicholas and Jonathon talked so passionately
about. From the sleeve length of the jacket
to the break on the pants, fused or not fused suiting these guys know their
stuff!
Since
we were working with a charcoal suit, we matched several shirt combinations.
There are tons of shirt options (as you can tell I was a little overwhelmed by
all the options) and lets not forget I still had to pick out ties! Too many
choices!!! But who is complaining, it’s great to have choices.
Blue
shirts always compliment a charcoal suit. One of the best ways to wear the
charcoal suit multiple times is wearing the suit jacket with a pair of navy
selvedge denim, like I show in the picture. It instantly elevates your look to
a casual outfit. Pair that up with a baby blue button-down then class it up
with a pair of sued loafers to step up your workweek or weekend, perfect for a
Sunday funday activity!
I highly recommend you stop by Suit Supply on
945 N Rush St, Chicago, IL 60611, and bring your tax refund check with you!!! In all sincerity, I recommend you visit Suit
Supply. The fabric, the shirts, the tie wall plus the great customer service
will all give you a one on one experience you cant get anywhere else!
I want
to thank Meghan Browning for allowing me to go visit the store. Jonathon &
Nicholas thank you for all the product knowledge and the one on one experience.
Cheers
Steven
