Christmas Shopping

9:25:00 AM

It is that time of year again where everyone starts stressing out about what gifts to get everyone in their life. Last year, I published a gift guide on what to get the men in your life, however I had men asking me what they should get the women in their life. This year, I have asked my best friend, Sim Kurup, to write a post with her gift guide on the top 10 gifts to get any woman in your life, to help the gentlemen out. She has created a guide at various price points, with presents appropriate for everyone from your mom to your girlfriend to the hostess of your next holiday party. Sim currently owns and loves every item on this list, or is currently lusting after them. She chose gifts from websites with fast shipping and great return policies, so you can get all of your holiday shopping done on your couch. I hope these great suggestions will be helpful towards picking out an amazing gift for the lucky person in your life.

Gifts Under $25

It is the holiday season and you most likely will be invited to many parties. You don’t want to show up empty handed, but you also don’t want to break the bank by buying an expensive bottle of wine for each party. Villa Sandi Prosecco is the perfect bottle of wine to give to your Boss’ wife at the workplace soiree or your aunt at the family gathering. It cost’s $12.99 a bottle and is widely available at most Binny’s Beverage Depots. I have personally tested many bottles of this prosecco, and can attest to its quality.

An infinity scarf is a classic gift and you can easily pick up the same scarf in multiple colors to give to all your cousins and coworkers. This scarf from Old Navy is amazingly warm and is available in great colors. For $16.99, you can’t go wrong with this pick. I own this scarf in wine purple and it has quickly become one of my favorite accessories for winter.

Gifts Under $50

Luxury skincare doesn’t have to cost a luxury price tag. This set from Moroccanoil comes with their body soufflé, body scrub, hand cream, and treatment oil for hair, otherwise known as everything a woman needs to indulge every inch of her body. I am currently lusting after this great set that only costs $42.

The 90’s are back in fashion, and backpacks were a major part of that era. It is very easy to spend a lot of money on this accessory like you would on any purse, but it is a trendier piece that might not be worth a huge investment. I like these choices from the Gap because they look expensive and come in great colors and finishes, but are only $49.95. I personally own the dusty rose leather backpack, but the velvet options are also great gifts if you want two trends in one present.

Gifts Under $100

I am the first to admit that I am a book nerd. Reading is one of my favorite hobbies, however I think books are great gifts even if the recipient is not an avid reader. Think of books as multipurpose, you can read them and decorate with them. The Classic Novels Boxed Set from Barnes & Noble is a gorgeous book set that would look great on a mantle, bookshelf, or bedside table. This set includes six leather bound books for $70 that are the pride and joy of my personal book collection. Barnes & Noble also has several other classic books in leather bound hardcovers if you want to just buy one book or create your own unique set.

As a 90’s kid, I have many fond memories of taking instant pictures and watching them develop, or shaking them. It is a great way to have pictures that aren’t just on your iPhone. If you want to be super trendy, you can take a picture of your instant picture on your iPhone and then post it to Instagram. I am lusting after the Instax Mini by Fujifilm. They come in a great assortment of vivid colors, but don’t forget to buy the film since it is not included with the camera. For $88.94 you can purchase both the camera and a two pack of film.

Gifs Under $200

If the woman in your life is an avid gym goer or is likely to make losing weight her New Year’s resolution, then these are the headphones for her. If she’s still using the headphones that came with her phone, then she is in need of a major upgrade. That being said, I am in need of a major upgrade and these are the bluetooth headphones I want.  These sweat and weather resistant headphones are great for all activities from running outside to lifting weights. They are originally $149, but are currently on sale at many retailers for $129.

Smart watches and FitBits have replaced the traditional watch for many women, however I still value a well made piece of jewelry. Olivia Burton is a London designer who has quickly become one of my favorite watch designers. She has beautiful pieces in a wide range of prices, but the Abstract Floral Mesh watch is definitely my favorite. The mesh band is the reason why I think it will make a great gift. It looks stylish and does not need to be fitted like a traditional link band. For  $180, it is priced far below most designer watches. Hopefully, Santa leaves this watch under the tree for me this year.

Gifts Over $200

This is a luxury purse with a somewhat luxury price tag however it is worth every penny. It is a great sized bag for running errands or spending a night out. I personally love how you can change the tone of this bag based on the color and hardware. For a classic look, choose the black leather with gold hardware. For an edgier look, choose the dark cherry with black hardware. At $295, this purse will make any woman, including me, very thankful.

If you want an over the top gift for the woman who has everything or you want to spoil the woman who never puts herself first, then this blow dryer set is the perfect gift. The Dyson blow dryer is heavily hyped in the beauty community because of its innovative design, but what else would you expect from Dyson. The Blown-A-Ouai set comes with the blow dryer plus several hair products all for the same price as the dryer itself. I will admit, at $399 it is a lot to spend on a hair dryer, but it’s Christmas!

I hope these suggestions help every gentlemen out there give the best gifts this holiday season!!!

With much love,

Sim Kurup
